Use a Charlotte crimp to neatly conceal your compressed crimp and securely fasten your beading to your clasp. This method is ideal for lightweight projects, as the compressed crimp provides the only support for your work.

Charlotte crimps are a traditional method of knotting silk and cords for attachment to clasps.  You can even use them to attach threads or wires to ear fittings.  There are a multitude of uses for these little beauties.

Bead Shack offers 2 styles of Charlotte Crimps: with a hook end or a loop end. Use the loop style to connect using a jumpring. Use the hook to bend over the clasp connection.
