Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Andean communities with this stunning sculpture of oxidised copper, meticulously handcrafted to depict the revered figures of Pachapapa and Pachamama.
These idols, representing Father Earth and Mother Earth respectively, hold deep significance in Andean cosmology, symbolising the interdependent relationship between humans and nature. Crafted by skilled Peruvian Cusco artisans, each intricately carved figure exudes wisdom, strength, and care, embodying the life-giving forces of the sun and earth. These sacred objects are traditionally used as offerings during ceremonies of gratitude and reciprocity, known as "payment to the land", to foster balance and harmony within their communities.
The pendants / idols / statues of these figurines are an ancient ritual and honur the sacred bond as practiced in the Andean regions of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.
