Description

Vibrant marbled opaque & translucent colour, with a dash of white.  The colours of these beads are not easily found - especially the oranges & purples in this range!  Replicate a Bakelite style necklace from the 40s by knotting between them or hang from chain like charms for an 80s look!

There are 10 styles/sizes available in this range, with 6 colours in each style - Cerise Pink, Red, Blue, Orange, Lime Green & Purple.  We also have a family of beads in the same shape & styles which replicate the beautiful tortoise shell / amber look.

Measurements:  14mm long x 6mm wide with a 1.5mm threading hole

Quantity per pack:  25 beads

We have deliberated over what these beads are made with, as well as when they were made.  At first we thought Bakelite, but they aren't old enough - this method of bead making ended about the 1940s.

Then we thought lucite, but usually lucite isn't in a marbled effect like this.  So then we were going to say acrylic, to be safe.  However they are really old stock, and unlike the most acrylic beads.

You will be amazed at the weight, quality, feel and superb colours and materials in these beads.   We will go with Marbled Lucite Beads.

With the marbling effect, you will see something different in every bead.  Some are almost all opaque, but if you look closely you will see transparent swirls, as well as small amounts of opaque white.  They really are amazing beads - there is nothing like them in today's market!

Most of the shapes don't even have a visible seam - you can just see where the seam is on the end of the tube shapes & every now and then on some of the others, but they are really hard to spot.  We are going to give an educated estimate of their age as being made in 1980s.  These beads were part of our rather famous warehouse clearance bead haul we did years and years ago!
