These beads are from old stock, Circa 1980s. The threading hole is about 6.5mm so will take lots of cords, or even macrame rope for wall hangings, pot hangers and lots of decor items like curtain tassels. What about beads to go onto jacket and bag cords - so many uses and it's so hard to find such a nice bead with such a generous hole.
The beads have been made first - the turquoise & coral have a white inside, while the green have a dark inside. Then the bead has been painted over the top - I imagine by a spray? I'm not an artist so I don't know the design of this type of painting, but I know you don't see beads with this kind of coating very often.
I really can't work out if these are plastic or not. I smashed one with a hammer, and it didn't shatter, it broke in half eventually. Very tough and strong, so I'm going to go with plastic or maybe even resin.
