Colours: These drawn and wound lampwork beads are an awesome transparent yellow but with a matte finish, with a rope wound around of white and light blue. There is a very light blue feathered design also wound around between the ropes. These beads are magnificent and a real collectors item. Every single bead is different.
Origin: Hand Made in India - We believe this bead to be a reproduction of a Venetian Trade Bead made for a famous company called Lewis & Clarke around 1800s who were exploring America and using beads to trade for food and goods with Native American Indians.
Of course you can use these beads in a project, whether it be for jewellery or decor, or just keep them as treasures in your stash! You might even like to put them out in a bowl for a talking point in your home. There is a lot of history of the Lewis & Clarke beads.
Bead Shack made a huge bead haul around 2007, and these beads were quite old before that. The man we purchased them from used to collect large hauls of beads that became available, so who knows how long ago they were made! Our best guess would be around 1970s-1980s for this bead.
Disclaimer: We have tried to describe the beads as accurately as possible, from our own knowledge as well as any knowledge we can glean from the internet.
