S-Lon bead cord is .5 mm 3-ply twisted, bonded multifilament nylon cord.
Use for 6/0 8/0 & 11/0 seed beads or other beads with at least a .8 mm hole. We recommend using our Collapsible Eye Needles or a Big Eye Needle to use for threading, as this cord is a bit too thick for a regular beading needle.
This cord is a great one for stringing seed bead necklaces and bracelets where you want to use the cord as the closure eg a sliding knot. The cord is supple and gives a really lovely elegant drape to your jewellery accessories.
Micro macrame makers love this thread as the knots kind of have a bit of 'bite' to them, rather than when you use a smooth cord.
Also use for kumihimo, macrame & stringing necklaces, bracelets, chokers, hangers, pouches for crystals etc.
Other uses for this material are in upholstery and fabric trims like top-stitching on shoes and purses.
